Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 30, 2026

This policy explains what information Equanimity Labo ("we", "us") handles when you visit equanimitylabo.com or play one of our games, why, and the choices you have. We are an independent game studio based in Quebec, Canada. We keep this short and plain on purpose.

The short version

  • Our games have no accounts and no sign-in. Your progress is saved on your own device.
  • We never ask for your name, address, contacts, photos or location.
  • Our mobile games are free and show ads. Ad and crash-reporting partners (mainly Google) receive limited technical data to do that.
  • This website uses no cookies, no analytics and no ads.
  • We do not sell your personal information.

1. Who is responsible

Equanimity Labo is responsible for the personal information described here. Under Quebec's Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector, our founder is the person in charge of the protection of personal information. You can reach them at equanimity.labo@gmail.com.

2. What this policy covers

This policy covers this website, our games on the App Store and Google Play, and the browser versions of our games, whether played here or on a game portal such as CrazyGames. Each game also has its own privacy policy listing exactly which services that game uses. Where a game's policy is more specific, it applies to that game:

  • Calembour privacy policy
  • Tiletris privacy policy
  • Lexicle privacy policy
  • Deck Tantrums privacy policy

3. Information we handle

On this website

  • Hosting data. Our host, Cloudflare, processes the technical data every website receives (IP address, browser type, the page requested, the time) to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse. We do not use it to identify you.
  • Browser games. When you play a game here, your progress and settings are saved in your browser's local storage on your device. They are not sent to us. Clearing your browser's site data deletes them.
  • Email. If you write to us, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to tell us, and use it only to reply.

In our games

Game progress and settings stay on your device. Depending on the game, these services may receive limited information to run the game:

ServiceWhyWhat it may process
Google AdMobShow ads in our mobile gamesAdvertising ID, device and network information, IP address, ad interactions
Google Firebase CrashlyticsFind and fix crashesCrash logs, device state, diagnostic information
Google Firebase AnalyticsUnderstand overall, anonymous usage to improve the gamesGame events, device and OS type, approximate region, pseudonymous identifiers
Google Firebase (leaderboards)Optional online leaderboards, only if you choose to post a scoreThe nickname you pick, your score, a random identifier
CrazyGamesRun and show ads in our games when you play them on CrazyGamesAs described in CrazyGames' own privacy policy

Some of our games offer an optional purchase (for example, removing ads). Payments are handled entirely by Apple or Google; we never see your payment details.

4. How and why we use it

  • To run the website and the games, and keep them secure.
  • To show ads, which keep our games free.
  • To find and fix bugs and crashes.
  • To understand, in aggregate, how the games are played so we can improve them.
  • To answer you when you contact us.

Where the GDPR applies, we rely on your consent for personalized advertising, and on our legitimate interest in keeping our games working and secure for crash reporting, security and aggregate usage statistics.

5. Advertising and your choices

  • Personalized ads. You can reset your advertising ID or turn off ad personalization in your device settings (Android: Settings → Privacy → Ads; iPhone and iPad: Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking and Apple Advertising).
  • Consent. In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, our games ask for your consent before showing personalized ads. You can refuse and still play.
  • iPhone and iPad. We do not track you across other companies' apps and websites unless you allow it through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt.

6. Sharing

We do not sell or rent your personal information. It is only processed by the service providers listed above, under their own privacy policies, or disclosed if the law requires it. California residents: we do not sell personal information. Personalized ads may count as "sharing" under California law; you can opt out by turning off ad personalization as described in section 5.

7. Children

Our games are made for a general audience and are not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

8. How long we keep it

Game data on your device stays until you delete the game or clear the browser data. Emails are kept as long as needed to help you, then deleted. Data processed by our service providers is kept according to their policies.

9. Where it is processed

Our service providers may process information in Canada, the United States and other countries, whose laws may differ from those where you live. We only use providers that offer recognized safeguards for this.

10. Security

We keep the information we handle to a minimum and rely on the security measures of established providers. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. If an incident puts your personal information at serious risk, we will notify you and the authorities as the law requires.

11. Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example Quebec, the rest of Canada, the EEA, the UK or California), you may have the right to access, correct or delete your personal information, to withdraw consent, to object to certain uses and to receive your data in a portable format. Because our games have no accounts, most data can be removed by deleting the game, clearing the browser data or resetting your advertising ID. For anything else, write to equanimity.labo@gmail.com; we reply within 30 days. You can also complain to your data protection authority, such as the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec or the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

12. Changes

If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top and, for significant changes, tell you on this website or in our games before the change takes effect.
